Nyonya Rendang Paste is a Malaysian aromatic and flavourful paste that causes your rendang dish to leave a gastronomical explosive fusion in your mouth. it has the same unique texture and complex flavour of the traditional rendang dish that Malaysians are so used to eating since young. The aroma springs from the usage of authentic blend of herbs and spices.

2 simple steps in cooking with  ‘Dappo’ Nyonya Rendang Paste:

BEEF RENDANG

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack ‘Dappo’ Rendang Paste
  • 500g of chicken, meat or seafood (wash and clean it thoroughly)
  • Turmeric leaves (thinly sliced)
  • Toasted grated coconut
  • 120g thick coconut milk

Method:

  • Heat up 150g of ‘Dappo’ Nyonya Rendang Paste in a wok or pan.
  • Add in 500g of chicken, meat or seafood (prawn, squid)
  • Add in 120g of coconut milk. Stir and blend well until the meat is tender and the liquid has evaporated.
  • Add in the toasted grated coconut and give a final mix.
  • Garnish with turmeric leaves.

Estimated cooking time: 15 – 20 minutes (this excludes preparation time).

Storage of ‘Dappo’ Nyonya Rendang Paste: Keep in a cold and dry place. Keep away from direct sunlight. Cook and consume immediately after opening the paste pack and refrigerate the balance.

CHICKEN RENDANG

Nyonya Rendang Paste works wonders with meat and seafood. Just add coconut milk and kerisik (grated toasted coconut) and garnish with turmeric leaf. It would leave a tantalizing taste in your mouth, making your taste buds to crave for more. Rendang goes well with plain steaming rice, ketupat (boiled rice wrapped in palm leaves), fried rice and pulut (glutinous rice). One pack serves 4-6 people.

 

Cooking Oil (Palm oil), Onion, Chilli, Ginger, Sugar, Lemongrass, Water, Garlic, Salt, Turmeric powder, MSG, Coriander, Fennel, Cumin, Kaffir Lime leave, Sodium Benzoate (E211).
