Satay consists of 2 parts – the barbequed meat or chicken and the mildly spiced peanut sauce. The barbequed meat or chicken comes in the form of small marinated pieces of meat grilled on a bamboo skewer and served with a spiced peanut sauce that is typically flavoured with lemon grass. SF Samudra Venture’s satay sauce originates from Pulau Penang (Penang Island). It is a famous food-centric island on the west coast of Malaysia. Both meat marinade and the peanut sauce are included in separate packs. These products are made without the use of chemicals or artificial colouring.

What Is Satay?
Satay, or Sate, is a seasoned, skewered, and grilled meat meal served with a sauce from Southeast Asia. Satay is thought to have originated in Javanese cuisine, but it has now spread to nearly every part of Indonesia, where it has become a national dish. Satay in Indonesia is frequently served with kecap manis — a sweet soy sauce – and lontong, a sort of boiled rice cake. Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand are among the Southeast Asian countries where it is popular.
Satay can be made with diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, fish, or even tofu. Bamboo skewers are commonly used, although skewers made from the midrib of a coconut palm frond are also popular. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then seasoned with a variety of spices. Satay can be served with a variety of sauces, but the most common is a soy-peanut sauce mix. As a result, peanut sauce is frequently referred to as satay sauce. It’s a popular street meal that can be found from a travelling satay vendor, a street-side tent-restaurant, an upper-class restaurant, or during traditional feasts.
