‘Vias’ Spicy Fermented Durian Sauce is a Malaysian condiment that is cooked with Fermented Durian Paste, Chilli, Turmeric, Salt, Sugar, Onions and Lemongrass. This ready to be eaten sauce pairs well for many Malaysian delights like crackers, crisps, steamed glutinous rice and many Malaysian fried food items.
How about making pasta with ‘Vias’ Spicy Fermented Durian Sauce
Ingredients:
- ½ cup pasta of your choice (spaghetti, linguini, spirals. macaroni)
- 1 small onion (peel, washed and sliced thinly)
- 1 to 2 bird’s eye chilli (wash, de-seed and cut to small pieces)
- Spicy Fermented Durian Sauce
- Water for boiling pasta
- Oil
- Cilantro for garnish
Method:
Step 1
Boil some water and salt it. When water is boiling, drop in the pasta and give a good stir. Cook until Al dante (Please follow the instructions on the packet). Drain the water and leave it aside to cool. Remember to save some of the boiled water for later use.
Step 2
Pour some oil in a frying pan and heat it up. Then add the onions and bird’s eye chilli and saute for a minute or 2.
Step 3
Add in the ‘Vias’ Spicy Fermented Durian Sauce (up to your preference and taste) and stir the mixture well. Finally add in the pre-cooked pasta and give a good thorough toss. The pasta dish is now ready to be served. Switch off the stove. Plate the pasta dish up and garnish with some cilantro.
