Let’s Make Fish Asam Pedas Melaka Using The Best Asam Pedas (Spicy And Sour) Melaka Paste

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of The Best Asam Pedas (Spicy and Sour) Melaka Paste
  • 2 to 4 pieces of your favourite fish (cleaned, washed and kept aside)
  • 3 to 4 ladies fingers (Okra)
  • 1 tomato (cut into quarters)
  • 1 brinjal (small aubergine – cut into quarters)
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind juice (you might need more)
  • Coriander leaves
  • Sugar and Salt (optional)
  • Water (optional – to thin the gravy)

Method:

  1. Place The Best Asam Pedas Melaka paste in a pot. Pour some water  and mix well if paste is too thick.
  2.  Cook for 1 minute until oil breaks out.
  3. Add the fish pieces and gently mix. Ensure that the fish pieces are thoroughly coated with this yummy gravy. Let it cook for a few more minutes and add tamarind juice to the pot. Do a taste test and adjust accordingly with sugar, salt and tamarind juice.
  4. Cook until the fish is perfectly cooked. Finally add the okra, brinjal and tomatoes. Give it a minute and the dish would be ready.
  5. Plate it up and garnish with coriander leaves.
  6. Serve it with hot steaming rice. Enjoy!

Note: You can substitute the fish with chicken, beef or lamb. Just have to watch the cooking time as meat might take longer to cook. Also the vegetables may vary to suit you palate. Okra, brinjal and tomato pairs well with fish in this dish.
