Ready to wat HOMEMADE BEEF DENDENG by DD Quest Trading was made from onions, red chilli, garlic, bird’s eye chilli, lemongrass, ginger and dried chilli.

This jerky meat can last long because no coconut milk is used and it is cooked until dry. It tastes like dry rendang, but it’s definitely not rendang.

Do you want to cook it yourself?  Here are the steps:-

1. Put the ground ingredients in the pan. Then, add 5 chopped kaffir lime leaves and fried lemongrass. Cook until the oil rises and changes colour.

2. Add sugar, salt, and tamarind water, and cook again until slightly crisp. When it’s a bit dry, add the meat broth.

3. Sprinkle sweet soy sauce (you need more sweet soy sauce) then, sprinkle a little bit of salty soy sauce (just to make it darker).

4. When it is thick and almost dry, add the meat and the remaining kaffir lime leaves, and mix well.

5. Add the fried onions, and mix well. Adjust the taste, turn off the heat and it’s ready to serve. Can remove excess oil.
