Laziz Toum (Garlic Sauce)

Laziz Toum (Garlic Sauce), a Laziz Shawarma Signature Sauce, is suitable for most Mediterranean cuisine. Laziz Toum is specially made for Laziz Shawarma’s business. This sauce is the main ingredient in our shawarma. It has a smooth texture that is creamy and slightly spicy taste. The recipe is a fusion from Damascus, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.

Toum is a strong garlic spread blended with pure olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Used as a sauce, condiment or ingredient in cooking. Toum enhances the flavour of any dish. A tablespoon is about 5 cloves of raw garlic, so imagine this in guacamole, mashed potatoes, or as a healthy and vegan alternative to mayonnaise. It makes delicious garlic bread or garlic burgers and is a delight when served as a dipping sauce with French fries.

Let’s Make A Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich Using Laziz Toum (Garlic Sauce)

Ingredients

A – Chicken Salad

• 1 ½ cups chopped cooked chicken
• 1 medium stalk celery, chopped (1/2 cup)
• 1 small onion, finely chopped (1/3 cup)
• ½ cup Laziz Toum (Garlic Sauce)
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon pepper

B

• 2 To 3 Croissants
• 2 tomatoes, sliced
• Lettuce leaves

Steps

1. In medium bowl, mix ingredients A well and leave it aside. Do a taste test to see if it suits your palate. Adjust accordingly.
2. Lightly heat up or microwave the croissants.
3. Cut the croissants in the middle and start assembling with lettuce, tomatoes and chicken salad.
4. The chicken croissant salad sandwich is ready to be served.
